My Fair City

I set out for a run yesterday with no path, mileage, pace, or goal in mind. I just wanted to see my city. Anyone who is from Chicago or has visited knows that it’s like five different cities in one — so much changes with every turn.

I covered about seven miles, turned down three dozen streets, navigated around hundreds of tourists, and avoided death-by-Divvy bike approximately ten times. I am so head over heels in love with this city — it’s so alive.

Now, ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND! Can I suggest something to watch just before you leave the office?

This made my week.

  1. I’ve been trying to come up with my answer for a bit now, and I can’t! I love the “You’re the One That I Want” dance in Grease, and that’s what keeps coming to mind… so there you go!

  3. I know I’m partial to Chicago since it was our go to city while I was growing up, but even now after living in Houston and visiting NYC and LA, it still trumps all to me. Love seeing your pics of the city on Insta. Have an awesome Friday!

  4. Last year was my first time to Chicago for the Chicago marathon. I was absolutely smitten with your city! I really can’t wait to go back and explore more : ) !

  5. The best runs have no destination and are not constrained by time. Kicking off the weekend right!

  6. Um…the final performance in center stage. It’s sad to admit that I know some of the choreograpy : )

Today we walked ALL over the city…probably like 8+ miles. It was GREAT!

  7. I love that Shut Up and Dance video! It made me want to go watch a bunch of movies…or learn how to dance better…or both! 🙂 Hope you’re having a great weekend!

  8. I’m not sure it’d be possible to ever get sick of running in Chicago. Such spectacular views.

  9. I can’t think of my FAVORITE dance scene in a movie, but I love the one in Skeleton Twins with Bill Hader and Kristin Wiig where they lip-sync and dance a Starship song. It’s awesome. Running in Chicago looks fun, when the weather’s nice 😉
