I set out for a run yesterday with no path, mileage, pace, or goal in mind. I just wanted to see my city. Anyone who is from Chicago or has visited knows that it’s like five different cities in one — so much changes with every turn.
I covered about seven miles, turned down three dozen streets, navigated around hundreds of tourists, and avoided death-by-Divvy bike approximately ten times. I am so head over heels in love with this city — it’s so alive.
Now, ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND! Can I suggest something to watch just before you leave the office?
This made my week.
- Best dance scene in a movie — GO!
I’ve been trying to come up with my answer for a bit now, and I can’t! I love the “You’re the One That I Want” dance in Grease, and that’s what keeps coming to mind… so there you go!
That’s a great one! Haha I haven’t seen that movie in forever!
Chicago is so beautiful! it just looks so welcoming!
And I LOVED that video… I want to watch it again actually… And the selection of movies… AMAZING! Let’s dance!!😘
Isn’t it amazing? It put me in a weekend mood, that’s for sure!
I know I’m partial to Chicago since it was our go to city while I was growing up, but even now after living in Houston and visiting NYC and LA, it still trumps all to me. Love seeing your pics of the city on Insta. Have an awesome Friday!
Hope you’re having a great weekend too!
Last year was my first time to Chicago for the Chicago marathon. I was absolutely smitten with your city! I really can’t wait to go back and explore more : ) !
So glad to hear that! Come back again soon!
Right back at ya!
You were right by my building! Next time come and say hi!
I definitely will next time!
Dirty Dancing… the scene where the two of them are in the little cabin thing and it’s raining outside or something. Soooo romantic. *swoon*
I just saw Dirty Dancing for the first time a few months ago — that scene is magical.
yeah Chi-town!! oh gosh — step up — the original — where channing is in his prime. Swoon
I love Step Up!! Channing Tatum is my #1 celebrity crush for sure
Looks like a fun run! I don’t even recognize that park with the gates – you must have really gone exploring!
It’s the park in between Navy Pier and Ohio Street Beach — perfect spot for sprints
I still haven’t had a chance to visit Chicago – I have heard it is such an amazing city. Have a great weekend!
Come visit ASAP! We’ll have so many adventures!
Chicago is one the the cities I have always wanted to visit but never have I’m sure the summer is the best time to visit. I need to.
You should definitely sign up for a race here — they’re wonderful! Always so scenic and the energy is electric no matter which race it is!
I want to visit!! What a good lookin city.
Come to meeeeeeeee we’ll go on so many adventures!
The best runs have no destination and are not constrained by time. Kicking off the weekend right!
Um…the final performance in center stage. It’s sad to admit that I know some of the choreograpy : )
Today we walked ALL over the city…probably like 8+ miles. It was GREAT!
The weather was perfect, wasn’t it?? Glad you got to walk around on a day like that!
Me too! We were EVERYWHERE and I was super excited to see the market. I will be back so I’ll let you know when!
I love that Shut Up and Dance video! It made me want to go watch a bunch of movies…or learn how to dance better…or both! 🙂 Hope you’re having a great weekend!
Haha I really wish I was a better dancer! How fun would that be?
I’m not sure it’d be possible to ever get sick of running in Chicago. Such spectacular views.
Tell me about it!
I can’t think of my FAVORITE dance scene in a movie, but I love the one in Skeleton Twins with Bill Hader and Kristin Wiig where they lip-sync and dance a Starship song. It’s awesome. Running in Chicago looks fun, when the weather’s nice 😉
Yes! I need to do this! I can’t say that I have every set out to run without a distance goal, I love exploring the BEAUTIFUL city!
