Poor Jenn has taken a week off from the WIAW hosting duties. It’s sad that she started something so cool but people have taken advantage of it — using the platform as a way to share their own personal recipes or agenda. And while I stand in solidarity with Jenn and hope she comes back to the party soon, I couldn’t resist sharing my eats from yesterday, because I had Chipotle. And if you get Chipotle and don’t share it with the world, did it even happen?
I woke up bright and early yesterday for a staff meeting so breakfast was pretty sweet. Don’t you love it when other people feed you?
I had a cinnamon raisin bagel with a little cream cheese (not the biggest plain cream cheese fan but I went with it). The staff meeting was bittersweet because we were saying goodbye to our store manager who is moving to Minnesota next week. The lucky gal gets to work in the Mall of America, aka ride rollercoasters on her break.
Half of us look like we’re on our deathbed because we attended a 6am bootcamp before the meeting. Did I mention that? There’s nothing like taking an Uber at 5:30 in the morning. It’s hilarious because I think the driver expects you to be hammered and on your way home, when in reality I just rolled out of bed and needed a warm moving vehicle to get me to my workout or I never would have gone.
Here’s what yesterday’s tabata workout looked like:
Tabata w/ 8 Rounds of :20/:10 Work/Rest/Movement w/ 1min Rest Between of:
- MAX Row Effort
- Body Bar Front Rack Reverse Lunges
- Pull Ups
- Horseshoes from the box
- Med Ball Ground to Overheads
- MAX Sprint Runs
- One Arm KB Thrusters (Alternating Hands/Round)
I’m in the waaay back doing ring rows. This girl is NOT ready for pull ups just yet. No way no how.
After the staff meeting I came home and did some writing before I had to head back to work for the night. Lunch included leftover pizza from Sunday night. I really want to stop eating it, but hey I spent the time and money on it and it keeps me from having to go grocery shopping for one more day.
Side of broccoli to make myself feel better.
I volunteered to stay late at work which brought my total to eight hours in the store yesterday. I know, I know…eight hours is the normal amount that most full-time people work every day. But have you ever worked eight hours in RETAIL? You’re ON for eight hours, no breaks, on your feet. The minute I walked out of the store there was nothing else I could do except, you guessed it, CHIPOTLE.
Taco salad with a brown rice, black beans, salsa, corn fajita veggies, hot sauce and guacamole on the side. I ate this in bed and immediately fell asleep. It was a great.
Not the most interesting day, but sometimes you live a semi-normal life and don’t think about how it will reflect on the blog π
Questions:
- What’s your Chipotle order?
- Are you a bagel eater? When I used to diet, I steered clear of bagels. Now, I love them!
I haven’t been to a Chipotle in so long that I wouldn’t even know what to order any more! : (
Whoa!! Change your ways, lady! π
I think I may be going to Chipotle for lunch today, woot woot! And that staff breakfast looks amazing. I love that they had Chobani, granola, and pineapple for healthier options π
We always have options for the gluten-free folks π
Mm Chipotle..I’ve been craving Mexican food for the past few days, so that looks amazing to me. I like bagels, but they never keep me full so I usually pick something else.
Agreed! I usually need my bagels to have eggs on them if there’s any hope that it’ll keep me full
I’m a bowl girl! I get half steak and half chicken, black beans, fajita vegetables and all the salsas. Plus guac, obviously.
Guac is a given. I usually get both kinds of beans and sometimes chicken. Regardless it always taste out of this world! Love me some chipotle
I love Chipotle. I like the burrito with that spicy creamy sauce that is smothered on it. Don’t even know what it is called bc I don’t go there as often as I like to. I love all Mexican. I only ever find myself eating bagels when I am marathontraining.
Wait how have I not known about this spicy sauce?! I must discover it!
Chipotle: bowl, brown rice, black beans (or no beans), chicken, pico, hot salsa, corn, guac. BAM.
I do the same thing with pizza leftovers or if I make too many cookies. I dont really WANT to keep eating them, but I also don’t want to throw it away and waste money/food. Now that I have figured out that cookie in a cup I wont be left with racks on racks on racks of cookies.
Thanks for coming out so early yesterday morning!
Lol you have a great Chipotle formula π
And cookies are always a problem…I usually end up bringing them to work. I used to put them in the freezer but I still ate them anyway haha
I love Chipotle! I go maybe once or twice a month. My usual is a bowl with white rice, chicken or sofritas, fajita veggies, salsa, green tomatillo sauce, lettuce, and cheese – can’t resist the cheese!
I used to love bagels, but steer clear of them now because I’ve been gluten free for over a year…and there’s no good gluten free bagel that I’ve come across so I’ve given up on that for now π₯
The sofritas are really good actually! Your chipotle formula sounds pretty perfect π
Oh dang. Maybe it’s time to quit my job and go to work at Lululemon. What an incredible spread of food! I β€ bagels so much.
Lol the amount of food we usually have in the store is a little ridiculous. Never going to complain tho! Bagels are my jam.
I can’t believe you work out that early! I admire youuu..seriously I couldn’t. I love bagels specially with creme cheese and jelly. I don’t have a Chipotle around where I live which is not cool at all, but my cousin got me the burrito bowl the other day and it was amazing!
Haha I don’t usually work out THAT early but I actually wish I did more often. It sets you up for such a successful day! You should petition for a Chipotle π
Um…your staff meeting meals look AMAZING and not just full of donuts and pastries! I love chicken burrito bowls with fajitas, corn salsa, salsa verde, lettuce and cheese π guac if I’m feeling fancy.
Yeah we usually have a huge variety because there are a lot of dietary preferences in our group. Lots of dairy-free and especially gluten-free. More bagels for me! π guac is not fancy guac is necessary!!
I’m actually not really a chipotle fan because I don’t really like Mexican food that much. I’ll do tacos or fajitas occasionally at home but I don’t really love them…so its tough to take advantage of all chipotle has to offer. Also, I don’t really like beans.
Bagels, however, I love! Except that I was spoiled growing up in NY and not the bagels in Maryland don’t compare. We used to get them occasionally but they just weren’t very good. I’ll get one on occasion but prefer to wait until i’m back in NY to get the good stuff!
I remember when you first said you don’t like Mexican food and I just can’t believe it! Haha. But glad you’re on the bagel train!!
I LOVE ALL THE BAGELS! Working at a bagel shop, I get all bread and bagels for free so I’ve made them a staple in my diet. That bagel of the month in February is chocolate chip. It’s so good with pb&j. If I had celiacs, I would literally die because I don’t know what I would eat.
I haven’t been to Chipotle in forever but if I went, I know I would try the new sofritas! π π
If I didn’t already work at my dream job I would say you have my dream job lol. Bagels are the bomb!! Thank god I don’t have a gluten sensitivity either I would cry!
8 hours in retail is actually codeword for 2000000. I used to love the 5 hours because you got a break. 7.5 was the worst because you just missed the long meal break.
I need chipotle.
I’m glad you get it. Retail is a whole other beast.
Ah your chipotle pic makes me smile… And then start thinking about planning another trip to London so I can go get some!!!
I just love how highly you speak of your work and your colleagues – whenever you speak about work your words always beam and you always seem to being having a blast! it’s so awesome! π
Thank you! I really do love them so much. They’re so supportive of my passion so I love going to work every day!
I used to be a helluva bagel eater, then not, and now I’m all about the bagel thin topped with stuff rather than cream cheese. They just sit like rocks in my belly, regardless. But bagel things give me the pleasure with out the blegh
bagel thins are probably a more realistic choice lol but sometimes I just can’t resist the TJ’s everything bagels. I’ve become a salty fiend! Eggs cheese veggies salt all on that bagel…good lord.
Chipotle always gives me trouble! I can never decide between the chicken and the carnitas! Both are just so good!
Hahaha I’ve heard people love the carnitas but I’ll always be a chicken lover π
Ummm can I come to your staff meetings!? WOW. My Chipotle order is a big fat burrito with EXTRA brown rice and black beans, two types of salsaaaaa, lettuce to the brim, and avocado. Sometimes the veggies, but sometimes they taste too much like meat for my liking. I know they use the same grill, which I’m not usually picky about, but when I can taste it then it’s a bit much.
I never noticed that! If I were you it would bug the crap out of me so I don’t blame you. Your burrito sounds fabulous — I haven’t gone the burrito route in forever and I need to change that ASAP
We don’t have a chipotle in my city and whilst that makes me a little sad, it makes me happy because I am sure I would spend a fortune in it.
Definitely true — it ain’t cheap!
Mmmm…Chipotle…so much food, so much goodness! I usually get the Vegetarian salad with black beans, and all.the.veggies.
Twins! I sometimes throw chicken in there but I love that the guac is free when you go the veggie route π
I am a chicken soft taco kind of gal, but I haven’t been to a Chipotle in a very long time (although your post kind of has me wanting to go!) Oh and I don’t think I’ll ever be ready for a pull up haha.
I hardly ever get their soft tacos but when I do I love them! Their tortillas are bomb. Pull-ups are a whole other beast π maybe one day!
