Today is going to be a post of few words, and more pictures. You know what they say, “Open your mouth only if what you’re about to say is more beautiful than silence.” I’m not sure if “they” say it, but I’m pretty sure I couldn’t come up with words more beautiful than photos of food, amiright?
So today I’m settling for a photo dump of all my eats recently. I’m trying so, so, so hard to turn down dinner invitations and happy hours (but you’ll also notice I’m making no qualms about going out to lunch. Shut up about it). That’s not to say I’m not going out at all but my wallet wasn’t too happy with the amount I was going out to eat and drink during the week as of late. But hey, my workout game has been on point so I’m not crying about it.

Easily digestable lunch before a rough sculpt class. Product 19 with honey and sliced bananas (went back for another half a bowl so the leftover milk wouldn’t go to waste — I am a steward of the earth)

I took myself on a lunch date and ate this croque monsieur at my favorite french cafe. It was a fun date full of pleasant conversation. Just kidding.

Another gross-looking but amazing dinner: Morningstar black bean patty mixed with an avocado and salsa

Potbelly tuna with alllll the veggies, extra mustard. Because toasted sandwiches immediately after a chilly Chicago run are always welcome.

Late night ugly oatmeal — but so, so good. Oats with almond milk, banana, stevia, chocolate chips and peanut butter.

The heater was out at work so the company treated us to complimentary coffee. I had a tall soy salted caramel hot chocolate and it was perfect. Gone in 3 minutes.

Recently tried out Suz’s sweet potato nachos and it is seriously in the Top 5 best things I’ve ever made in my kitchen — make these!
Questions:
- Do you ever go out to eat by yourself?
- What’s your favorite Trader Joe’s meal?
- Favorite ice cream flavor?
I think I have to put ‘visit Trader Joes’ on my bucket list – you know, just so I can make an educated decision on what my fav trader joes meal would be 😉
And there is nothing wrong with taking yourself on a lunch date – although wish I had been there to join you 🙂
Haha you definitely need to add that to your bucket list….for the good of the blog, of course 😉
Alllll the things. especially the last 2 things 🙂 I basically ate by myself last night because Alex took forever to meet up with me and I had already ordered and he said it would be only a few minutes… He lied.
Hahahahah I can just see you just ordering appetizer after appetizer…it’s straight out of a sitcom. They probably thought you were making Alex up.
What is it about Trader Joe’s pizzas? They are seriously my favorite frozen pizzas out there! I haven’t tried the BBQ chicken one yet though – that could be dangerous…
I’ve tried a few and they’re good but this one was out of this world! Well, if you like bbq chicken at least haha. So, so good. Luckily my friend split it with me because I could totally have finished it by myself…
Ugh, good thing I don’t participate in the WIAW just yet.. I have been eating waaaaay too much fast food as I run errands lately.. I need to stop that STAT haha.. great post, as always! ❤ – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com
Luckily nowadays there are some good options for fast food — but hey, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!
Trade Joe’s pizza is the beeeeest! I love the orange chicken and vegetable fried rice from Trader Joe’s. It’s my favorite easy weeknight meal cause it’s so easy and delicious.
My dad and brother go through that orange chicken like it’s water haha. Trader Joe’s just gets it 🙂
Ahh the Jeni’s Buckeye State! I am totally going to have to get me some this weekend! I totally just found a Jeni’s gift card in my wallet too! Um why have I not used that yet
It’s sooooooo delicious — GO NOW!
Yum! You eat well! I have got to try those sweet potato nachos. They look ridiculous!
Im not exaggerating about how good they were. And they were 10x more satisfying than regular nachos
i haven’t hit up a TJs in so long — i love their stuff, but i’m such a grocery store fail, and it’s annoying to have to lug grocery bags around the city! so lazy. so i’ll just drool over all the TJs products you other bloggers get to enjoy. 🙂 i don’t go out to eat by myself often — usually just pick stuff up and eat at my coffee table (because that’s what we have in NYC instead of real tables). fave ice cream flavor, hmmm…i really like Pinkberry’s pumpkin, and their mint chocolate cookie.
Pumpkin ice cream is really underrated! Speaking of TJs, they have a really good pumpkin ice cream 😉
All your food looks so good. Yes I do go out to eat by myself when I am at work. I actually don’t mind it. Sometimes I feel like it is better than going with co workers and are obligated to make small talk just bc they are there.
Yeah im getting more and more comfortable doing it. Granted it’s easier nowadays with my phone… 😉
I need to make those nachos, they looked amazing when Susie shared them and when I saw them on your Instagram I wanted them all over again. My favorite ice cream flavor? All of them. Just kidding, I don’t like mint. So, every other flavor.
It’s so worth the effort — that recipe was killer. The after pic was too messy to share but oh man.
OK girl seriously all this food looks awesome sauce. That meal from the french cafe- nom nom!
I go out to eat alone for lunch and talk to myself – just kidding. My favorite trader joe’s item is the orange chicken. Favorite ice cream is chocolate chip cookie dough. 🙂
My dad abd brother live and breathe that orange chicken! I guess i should try it!
I love Morningstar stuff too and also mix in avocado and salsa-yummy!
Morningstar stuff is delicious! I love their fake chicken and sausage the most
Whoa now. Did you put CHOCOLATE CHIPS in your Chobani?! That just may be the smartest thing I’ve ever seen. Up to this point I’ve been pretty much a granola-with-yogurt sort of person (or a yogurt-with-yogurt sort of person :P), but chocolate chips + coconut yogurt seems like a whole new level of delicious.
Duh i did. In the coconut it’s heavenly. As close to ice cream as yogurt can get.
All of that looks delicious. Good thing I just ate some food or I would be running out the door to get some. I need to make those nachos bc I have a whole rack of sweet potatoes just chillin in the kitchen.
Haha that’s the problem with WIAW posts — they make you so hungry!! SERIOUSLY make those nachos. Unreal.
All of the food look yummy. I think the croque monsieur is something I need to try! It must have been a crazy and yet fun day at work with no heat and it always helps when the boss treats the staff. My favorite ice cream is Pistachio!
Pistachio ice cream is amazing! Almost as amazing as pistachio pudding 🙂
All your food is making me salivate! Looking forward to this weekend.
Same! Finally gonna lose my Blue Door virginity!
This is the most delicious WIAW I’ve ever seen.
Roasted sweet potatoes, BBQ chicken pizza, Jeni’s Buckeye ice cream (!!!), chocolate peanut butter oatmeal, and those perfect scooping chips all in one post?!??!
Ooh and I tried Potbelly’s for the first time when I was in Chicago this summer and I loved it!
You don’t get to have Potbelly’s whenever you want?! Madness!
Yeah I had a really nice week of food 😉
Ooooh sweet potato nachos sound YUMMY. Must try that soon! Also, I love those black bean burgers. They’re totally a staple in my freezer!
Morningstar stuff is always in my freezer too — it’s an easy go-to whenever I don’t want to put much effort into dinner.
My favorite dip from Trader Joe’s! Love a lot of the items here, but that one really caught my eye. It’s going on my grocery list.
It really is phenomenal. I’m trying to recreate it but idk if it’s possible!
So much good food! Now I want ice cream! That was really nice that your work got you coffee, but no heat?! I don’t think I would have survived. I would have taken the free coffee and went home.
We had to do it for a few hours but then they finally closed haha. It was just too cold! But the free coffee was wonderful 🙂
Good looking food this week! Those sweet potato nachos sound delicious!
I haven’t been out to eat by myself in a while, though I’m not opposed to it! Favorite TJ’s meal… hmm… I like a lot of the organic soups from there. And favorite icecream… oof, that’s a hard one- I loooove coffee oreo, and lately I’ve been loving Talenti gelato in PB or caramel!
Their black bean soup is killer! And Talenti gelato is heavenly!
I LOVE going out to eat by myself! My husband used to think I was such a weirdo. I’m an only child and lived alone for a long time so alone time is quite precious to me (and I rarely get it anymore!) It has been FOREVER since I had a croque monsieur. I have got to find someplace that has them now. Pretty much my favorite sandwich ever!
Being comfortable being alone is such a precious gift! Croque monsieurs are the bomb, aren’t they?! They’re so freaking good. Soooo cheesy 😀
Salmon & Squash. Salmon & Squash. The two best friends that ANYONE COULD HAVE!
Squash on squash on squasssssh
I’m hungry after looking at all of this!
I love going out to eat by myself. I don’t have my husband picking things off my plate haha
Haha that’s definitely a perk to eating alone — no sharing!
Yummy yummy yummy to my tummy!! Oh wow girl, you ALWAYS eat the most amazing meals. I love looking at all the pics!! I’m hungry now! 🙂 I love eating! Roasted butternut squash and potatoes- what an amazing meal! Also, love your avocado and salsa meal!! It looks very delicious! Have a great day! XOXO
Avocado and salsa can always be combined somehow to make a wonderful meal! And so filling!
Mmmm…salivating at the sweet potato nachos! All of your eats are making my menu as of late look pretty lame! I have gone to small cafes alone but never an all out restaurant! Unfortunately, I can’t choose just 1 flavor of ice cream. I’ll take it all!
If i dont make a fun meal like most of mine listed here ill usually end up still hungry haha. Youre right — there are way too many great ice cream flavors!
Sweet potato nachos are seriously the best! Have you ever tried Trader Joe’s sweet potato gnocchi? It is SO good!
I haven’t but that sounds amazing! Sweet potatoes are the best! And so versatile!
Where did you go to lunch!? Looks amazing and I’m always on the lookout for local French restaurants!
It’s called Toni’s Patisserie! It’s right by Millennium Park on Washington. Check it out! $1 macarons on Thursdays too 😉 but their croque monsieur is great, as is their salad nicoise and desserts. Love love love! It’s very casual — perfect for lunch or an afternoon coffee date.
I don’t typically go to a sit down restaurant alone, but smaller cafe like places I frequent alone ALL THE TIME! It’s quite relaxing. I need some ice cream..and those chips…together.
It’s definitely a whole different beast to go to a sit-down restaurant alone…I haven’t done that yet haha. Chips and ice cream…I like you.
That pizza looks amahzing!! We just had pistachio ice cream last night…with fudge…and sprinkles haha. So good!
Never eaten out alone but I think that’s soooo cool!
Pistachio ice cream is so good — it’s a great and really underrated dessert flavor. And bbq chicken pizza never disappoints!
