weekend in rhymes + workout accountability

Having a schedule like mine is super weird. Not sure if I’ve mentioned that before (sarcasm).

Sundays used to feel odd – like the “end” of something. Now it’s just another day, and knowing that this morning is a Monday ain’t no thang. That being said, the one thing I do appreciate about the weekends is I get to spend a lot more time with loved ones (because, sadly, most everyone else has a normal life and they use the weekends to do activities. how rude).

Lot’s happened this weekend. so let’s be obnoxious and rhyme about it.

There was spinning, painting, applesauce-making and Red-Robin-shaking (those bottomless fries, yo):

unnamed (11) unnamed (12) unnamed (14) unnamed (15) unnamed (13)

There was running at sunset down Lake Shore Drive (with donuts on donuts for my running to thrive):

unnamed (16) unnamed (17)

There were babies in costumes I creeped on online, and Hawks game raffles where I won a prize:

unnamed (21) unnamed (20)

Popcorn and sweet potatoes, surprise surprise. You fools dominate my taste buds, despite all other tries:

unnamed (18) unnamed (19)

Okay end rhymes. My “Sunday night glass of wine” brain thought that was a good idea five minutes ago but now it’s clear I’m running out of juice (both figuratively and literally).

Finally, a few funnies to start your week:

unnamed (23) unnamed (24)

Just kidding that wasn’t last – I have to keep making sure that I’m holding myself accountable for my workouts. I did pretty well this past week!

Workout Accountability 10/20-10/26

  • Monday: 4 mile run
  • Tuesday: Body by Jake full-body video (free on Hulu!)
  • Wednesday: Yoga Sculpt
  • Thursday: Flywheel
  • Friday: Rest
  • Saturday: Rest
  • Sunday: 5.25 mile run

HECK YES!

Questions:

  • What was your favorite workout this week?
  • Do weekends seem like a big deal to you or do you have a wacko schedule too?
  • Ever been to Red Robin? What’s your favorite thing there? (bottomless fries are a given).

  1. My favorite workout was yesterdays 4.5 mile run! I have finally returned to outdoor running and my oh my I never realized how much I missed it! Good luck on your 4 miler today 🙂 Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed mine!

  2. haha, those last images made me laugh. wknds are big deals for me, as i work a corporate job during the week and look forward to my wknds to fill as i choose — usually lots of running, and usually upstate w/ the fam and boyf. faves. 🙂

    1. They’re opening up a new studio today in Old Town I’d love to go with you if you’d be interested! Unless you didn’t like it 😉 I’ve had mostly teachers I love but a few I wasn’t feeling AT ALL so if you didn’t like it I hope you give it another shot with a new teacher

      1. That’s where I went, actually! They had a preview class that I got invited to. It took me a little while to get into it, but by the end I really enjoyed it. We’ll have to see if we can find a time where our schedules match up 🙂

  3. I went biking around the entire island of Manhattan with my huband last Sat! Whew! Then I blew my entire workout and went out drinking with my friends, lol. Hot mess. Oh well. Yolo!

  4. I honestly just want all the food pictured in this post. Amazing. Red Robin is awesome. We had one in my hometown, but I haven’t seen one in Houston. I ran a half this weekend and am now in total R&R mode 😀

  5. Haha, Red Robin brings me back to college because for a year I lived in a hotel right next to one. The school put up some transfer students like me in a nearby hotel – it was our version of a dorm because the school have an influx of students living on campus and ran out of room – and we would go to Red Robin for dinner all the time because, well, it was CONNECTED to where I lived. Their veggie burger is actually pretty good!

  6. Now I’m going to petition for boston to get a red robin bc the concept of bottomless fries needs to come to this city. Pronto. Also I want all the food in this post and also that baby in the bird costume bc OMG THOSE CHEEKS.
