WIAW: breakfast for ALL the meals


I’d like to say that I’m getting better at not having breakfast for multiple meals a day, but that would be a lie. I mean, why ruin it when you’ve got something good going on?

Scratch that. Something great.

Breakfast is GREAT.

Oh, also, I’ve decided I’m doing 100 squats every day of September. One of my girlfriends accidentally grabbed my butt one night we were out and commented on how squishy it was.


Call it the result of sitting on my ass for almost a year but I was not pleased by that comment. She insisted it was a compliment but the damage was done. Not. Pleased. Sooooo here’s to a sore September!

Last night I stayed up way past my bedtime watching my new-found favorite show. My mom has been telling me for weeks to start but being the little rebel I am, I held out as long as I could. Ugh why are moms always right?


 Being up until almost 3am watching tv does NOT coincide well with a 6:30am alarm to run, so I did what I do best: I hit snooze. 



One egg, 1/3 cup egg whites, green peppers, salsa, 2% cheddar cheese, onion powder and red pepper flakes. 1/3 an avocado on the side. Plus coffee (is that even necessary to mention?)

After breakfast I did lots of work on the blog, caught up on all your Labor Day Weekends, and watched The Today Show with Kathie Lee and Hoda. Love those two.  It was a fun few hours!


Around noon I set out for a midday run, which, I knew from the beginning was going to be miserable. I literally felt like I was lifting up tree trunks with every step during that miserable, 90% humidity but I got those four miles done. No pictures because my Garmin is broken and it’s either that or my face and you don’t want to see the face of a midday summer runner. It wasn’t pretty. But it happened!


I had 45 minutes between the end of my run and the time I had to leave for work so I had a quick mini-meal (aka second breakfast. I’m like a hobbit).


Yoplait berry smoothie pack + Chobani plain greek yogurt + almond milk. A piece of banana bread + chocolate chips on the side.


During my break at work I snacked on some overnight oats. See I told you I have a breakfast obsession!


If there’s one thing that cold oatmeal isn’t, it’s photogenic. Delicious mix nonetheless: oats, chia seeds, sliced banana, cinnamon, almond milk and chunky peanut butter.

After a hella slow shift at work I finally got home just in time for the late night showing of Modern Family and a bulked up bowl of pasta.

Whole wheat penne + marinara + roasted broccoli + Parmesan.

So, at the end of the day, I ran, worked at a job I love, and ate lots of good food. I didn’t save any babies or go skydiving or anything, but I also didn’t roll an ankle or choke on a noodle so things are A-okay.

  1. OMG!!! Totally LOVE the As If picture!! Ha!! Wow, yummy breakfast!! That looks absolutely delicious! I love all of the ingredients, especially red pepper flakes and avocado!! Your meals always make me hungry!!
    The best thing I ate yesterday? A cucumber, carrot, feta, and red pepper hummus sandwich!! It’s my new favorite!! I LOVE breakfast food, too!! Soooo delicious!!!

    You have questions and I have answers:
    -I don’t actually have cable. I buy the shows I like on DVD (no commercials! lol). I recently did a major marathon of The Good Wife.
    -The best thing? Is that the yummiest or the healthiest? Yummiest: fried potatoes with olive oil, garlic, and basil! Healthiest: green juice made with kale, cucumber, and pear.
    -Are there people who don’t like breakfast food? o.O

  3. Second breakfast is pretty much the reason why I run, if we’re being honest. I LIVE for post-run pancakes on Saturday mornings. When I go to the gym before work, I also have a little second breakfast (because ain’t no WAY I’m going to make it to lunch at 12:30 when I had breakfast at, you know, 5 a.m.), and I’d be lying if I said the prospect of second breakfast before work wasn’t a good motivator to get me out of bed and to the gym 😛

  4. Best thing I ate yesterday was my eggplant trifle. And I had it again today with lunch. NOMS. And Cher would have just had 2 bowls of special k, 5 peanut m&Ms and like 3 pieces of licorice! But never coffee, because that would stunt her growth, and she wants to be 5’10” like Cindy Crawford.

  5. I love breakfast! They call it “brekkie” here in Australia and it makes it sound even MORE appetizing! Also, Ray Donovan is AMAZING and it sounds like you’re already hooked! Late night? Gotta be Full House… or of course, Friends!

      1. It’s really catchy isn’t it? They shorten a lot of words here and add “y” (“ie”) on the end. It’s funny! I’m going to come back to the states with the funniest terms!

  6. I need to join you on that 100 squats a day challenge! My husband loves Ray Donovan but I’ve never been able to get into it– I’m having such a love/hate relationship with being able to watch so many TV shows– and by watch, I mean binge watch until all hours of the night! I’m currently working my way through the wire!

    1. I’ve never had a breakfast taco I don’t think! Not a real one…I’ve wrapped eggs up in a tortilla but I need to try a fancier one because my love of Mexican food and breakfast only means I’d be obsessed with breakfast tacos 🙂

    1. It’s a great combo! it NEEDS to be chunky pb otherwise the texture just isn’t there. AlsoI think people who aren’t big fitness freaks don’t understand that that’s a bit more of an insult than a compliment haha 😉

  7. Breakfast rocks. Period. I can’t comprehend anyone who says they don’t like or can’t eat breakfast!
    Right now david and I are finishing watching the last 2 seasons of will and grace. I watched it religiously when it came out but the last 2 seasons were shown when I was in my last years of uni and I missed it. Still love it now!
    Got a new netflix membership though so it’s a toss up on what we start next – house of cards? Orange is the new black? Braking bad? Eeek!

  8. Lol- love the Clueless and Schmidt (sp?) GIFs!! And breakfast is my favorite meal of the day- in fact i eat first breakfast early (i workout before going to work) and then 2nd breakfast at my desk. could not live without breakfast!

  9. BREAKFAST FOOD IS THE BEST! I seriously can’t understand why all restaurants don’t serve it all day. It seems like a piss poor business model if you ask me.
