Holla at my fellow Chicagoan SuzLyfe for nomiating me for the Sunshine Award! You know what that means…you’re about to learn new, random, unique things about me! I never in a million years thought that strangers on the internet would want to know intimate details about me, and I wouldn’t be creeped out by it. In fact, it only seems appropriate that you all get to know more about what makes me, me, other than my insatiable love and need for food and a good sweat session. So without further ado….
1. I have been to 12 different countries. My favorite place was Prague in The Czech Republic, and my lease favorite was Venice, Italy. I haaaated that place. It was a claustrophobic girl’s worst nightmare.
2. Speaking of that, I’m claustrophobic. I had a traumatizing experience when I was little where I got trapped crawling through a dark tunnel, with someone in front of me and behind. It was the worst feeling of my life and I’ll never forget that panic. Ever since then, I can’t be in small, dark, enclosed spaces, and if I’m locked in somewhere, I have a panic attack.
3. In high school I pierced my cartilage with a safety pin (it didn’t end well)
4. My head is too big to fit into hats. I just tell myself it’s because I have too big of a brain 😉
5. I ate so much cereal in college that some of my friends referred to me as the “cereal killer”. I even went as that for Halloween once.
6. I have a twin brother!
7. Austin is my favorite city in America
8. I lived in Washington D.C. for a summer – and in two months made some of the best friends in the world. We still talk today!
9. I’m in a sorority – Pi Beta Phi
10. I was a barista in college. It was a humbling experience but also one of the most fun. I wish everyone could work in the food industry for at least a year because it really gives you a whole new outlook on life. Plus, I got free drinks whenever I wanted, so not only did I make money but imagine how much I saved on coffee throughout college!
So there’s that! I feel like you know me on a whollllle new level now. But now I need to hear some random things from you! Tell me something unique about yourself! Give me some workday entertainment.
This is awesome. I love that you were a cereal killer. Not so much that you pierced your cartilage with a safety pin (where you going for the Parent Trap type of success?). My mom was a Pi Phi, and I had lots of good friends in the PiPhis. I have heard that Prague is simply breathtaking, and I definitely want to go there.
Another random fact for today is the fact that I can flare my nostrils, move my ears, and raise my right eyebrow.
YOU ARE SO SKILLFUL!! haha so many talents.
I do what I can ::shrug::
My best friend is a cereal killer haha she always has a bowl of cereal with her! That is so cool you have a twin brother! Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have a twin!
It’s funny because I always forget that having a twin is a unique thing haha he just feels like a brother. It was AWESOME having a partner in crime growing up though
Ooh I would love to visit Austin some day, heard so many amazing things about it!
My favourite country I have visited is Oman – amazing place, amazing people, can’t wait to go back one day!
Is it bad that I have no clue in the world what Oman is all about? Time to do some googling!
Dont worry, most people dont know where it is – Middle East, south of UAE.
Have fun googling – it’s so beautiful! 🙂
12 countries — wow! That’s impressive! I’ve been to…four, if the U.S. counts as one 😛 Jealous that you got to live in D.C.! I’ve visited a few times and I think it’s an awesome city (though it is a bit $$$).
I was smart in that when I studied abroad I took advantage of how cheap traveling through Europe is – I did everything, from overnight trains to hostels to Air B ‘n B and Ryan Air flights that I thought were going to fall out of the sky haha. But it was worth it! And DC is the best! It’s so cool to live there because there are always a million things to do
i was also a barista for a bit and actually enjoyed it, at a small little coffee shop/cafe in smalltown, Colorado. i haven’t been to Austin but i already know i’ll love it and have had SO many people tell me i’d fit right in there. 🙂
I can’t imagine any foodie and/or active person not falling head over heels in love with Austin 🙂
Oh my goshhhh! I can’t believe you pierced your own cartilage! haha. I had mine done professionally when I was younger and that did not go well so I can only imagine doing it with a safety pin! haha I’ve never been to Austin but my husband went a few summers ago and has raved about it ever since! It’s definitely somewhere I want to visit in the next few years.
It was horrible! I even got my belly button pierced in college and I didn’t feel a thing compared to the cartilage experience haha. Put Austin on your list NOW!!! And go stand-up paddle boarding for me
Okay you rock. I can relate on so many of these!
#2: I am also claustrophobic, though not due to any one specific incident (at least none that I can recall). It’s part of the reason that I have a really hard time on airplanes (if I fly anywhere I absolutely have to have an aisle seat). I had a minor episode at a children’s museum recently going through a maze with my daughter and in one place the ceiling was REALLY low and I had to crawl through a tiny little space. The only reason I held it together was because she was with me.
#3: Same deal with the safety pin and my cartilage, but mine ended okay. I still have it.
#7: Austin is awesome. One of the best music scenes in the US.
#9: I was a Phi Mu.
#10: And a barista. Man some people are JERKS when they order coffee.
I LOVE YOUR CEREAL KILLER COSTUME! That’s so much fun!
haha 1) the place I had my “incident” at was a children’s museum…those stupid mazes! 2) I’m jealous because I loved that piercing 3) The Austin picture was at the Oasis! It was the most beautiful view in the world. It’s verrrry famous there for the view so I wouldn’t be surprised if you ate there too!
PS the first Austin picture…was that at a restaurant and if so which one because I think I ate there.
Your cereal killer costume is so cute!
Reading your tunnel story freaks.me.out. I never thought I was claustrophobic at all until I rode the Pirates ride at Disney World. Waiting in the huge crowd of people in an underground tunnel was pretty much my nightmare.
I’m totally jealous of your 12 countries too!
Oh, what neat facts about you!!! You’re seriously amazing and have had some super cool life experiences!!! Wow, pierced your ear with a safety pin!!! OUCH!!! 😉 And omg, I used to eat so much cereal in college, too!!! YUUUUM!!! You’re so fabulous!!!
Yeah I’ve had some great experiences but also done some stupid things (like said piercing haha). Cereal is the BEST! Especially after a late night out if you catch my drift 😉
Ohhh yessss I do!! 😉 😉 Sounds very familiar!!!
That’s so cool that you’ve been able to travel so much! I’m headed to Venice this summer, so let’s hope that I don’t suddenly develop claustrophobia! And I want to go to Austin so incredibly bad. My cousins went to college there and absolutely loved it.
Haha yeah don’t let my bias get in the way of loving Venice! I took an overnight train there, got in at 5:00am, and the city doesn’t “wake up” until 9:00am so we walked around like it was a ghost town. That, plus the claustrophobia, didn’t make for a great trip. I’m sure you’ll have a much better time!
LOL!!! That is why I hated Venice too…and the damn smell!
So. When is Australia on the books 😉
You are so talented and interesting!
