I had a mini panic attack this morning when I realized that the holiday season begins in 11 weeks. I mean I guess that’s a long time but we all know it’s going to fly. But the holiday season means a LOT of parties are going to start being on the books, so let the food brainstorming begin!
One of my biggest nutrition downfalls is dip. Spinach dip, queso, guacamole, you name it and I probably have two cups of it on my plate at any given party. And while some are filled with quality ingredients and great nutrition, most just aren’t. I’ve been looking for a fiber-filled dip idea to have in the fridge lately when I want a snack but don’t want to just chow down on carrots and I stumbled upon an awesome idea, courtesy of Trader Joe’s (they make it so EASY, don’t they?)
I know this recipe isn’t anything new…in fact I got the idea via a foodie’s best friend, Pinterest.
But it’s easy. It’s delicious (I brought it to work the other day and it got scarfed down). AND it’s healthy. It’s a lot better than what I normally want to bring and eat at parties. Plus it’s packed with protein and fiber so it’s one of those things that might actually fill you up instead of make you even more hungry. Imagine that!
Lentil Bruschetta Dip
Ingredients (all found at TJ’s)
- 17.6 oz container of steamed lentils
- 12 oz. jar of bruschetta dip
- 6 oz. container of feta (I didn’t use the whole thing. Add at your own discretion)
Directions
- Mix, eat, fridge it up, repeat
I ate this on a whole wheat tortilla, with tortilla chips, on celery and by the spoonful. Who knew that lentils could kinda sorta maybe taste like pizza.
Enjoy!

I like the idea of this! I bet it’s great with tortilla chips! I just found these really great jalapeΓ±o organic chips from the natural foods store this would go great with!
Jalapeno chips?! Yum! I never used to like jalapeno-flavored anything but I’ve been all about the heat lately.
Hey girl! Just found your blog, it’s super super cute!! Thank goodness I found it today–I was serrriously just wondering how to use my lentils. THANKS!!
So glad you’re here! I’m checking out your blog as we speak π what a coincidence that you need a way to use your lentils! good timing!
Dips are so bad but so good! I don’t traditionally care for bruschetta because I don’t like tomatoes, but I LOVE lentils so I love the idea of mixing them with something for a delicious dip!
I used to be the same way – hated tomatoes! Now I like them for some reason…funny how tastes change π
I love the ease of this recipe! Thanks for sharing, it’s the first I’ve seen of it π
Glad I could pass it on! It really is so, so easy π
I love lentils… I was just thinking about them and how I wish I had the cooked ones from TJs right now haha.
the fact that they’re cooked makes them almost too easy haha it’s perfect
Ooohh this sounds SO yummy! i’ve had the urge to make a gluten-free apple pie for the last week, so i’m going to have to do that soon π
September is all about the apples! I already jumped on the pumpkin bandwagon but you can’t forget about the apples π
Yummy to my tummy!!! This recipe sounds amazing!! Will try!! I know it’ll be fabulous because HELLO, you love it aaand…YOU’RE FABULOUS!!! By the way, I am a lentil fan and my favorite party food is definitely chips and dip!! YUMMY!!!
Kristin you are TOO KIND π chips and dip are the bessssst
Oh dips….I love them so. And this is a great easy recipe to throw together last minute for a party, thank you for the inspiration!
It definitely is a last-minute, procrastinator’s dream haha
Chips and guac are my favorite party food for sure. I could eat an entire bag with about 8 avocados worth of guac on my own π
BTW I promised not to rub it in when Notre Dame won, so I won’t mention anything about the shut out π
guac is KING π and i’ll pretend you didn’t say that haha
Guac is a food group in itself.
That dip sounds pretty epic, but lentils make me preggo. Not a great look on a guy :p IS queso that dip which looks gross and yellow and becomes like glue but tastes amazing?
hahahaha funny how certain foods can have the effect on certain people. And yup that’s the one…queso is one of life’s biggest guilty pleasures
These lentils are SO good. When I worked at TJ’s I would often get these for my lunch and destroy nearly the entire package. Dips are my downfall too…so..good.
Haha I can’t imagine eating almost a whole package but I fully support it! π dips are always my downfall
What an awesome way to use lentils. I never would have thought of this.
Thanks! The best part is it’s three ingredients, all from the same place, and you just mix it all together. It couldn’t possibly be easier!
Um, yes please! Love TJ’s precooked lentils in salads and stuff!
I’ve never tried them in salads – cool!
sounds AMAZING. thanks for sharing! Dips are my downfall at parties too…even though I know they’re probably not healthy they just taste so good. I’ll be making this for sure. I’m psyched to make pumpkin chocolate chip bread, apple crisp, apple everythingggg π
Pumpkin chocolate chip bread is my JAM
I dig those TJ’s lentils and buy them all the time! I’ll throw em together with brown rice, avocado, and tomato for a quick meal.
I also love dips, and actually just made my healthier spinach & artichoke dip recipe last weekend – so yummy!
That’s a really good lentil idea! I’ll have to try that. Anything with avocado is automatically a star in my book!
I always make hummus and spinach dip for parties. I know other people who make lentil soup with the TJ’s lentils and this looks GREAT!
Spinach dip is apparently the fan favorite π and it’s my favorite too!
